    "parrafo-principal": "The 2016 harvest will be remembered as one full of challenges, many of them related to cooler and more humid weather conditions than usual. It was the end of a three-year weather cycle (2014-2015-2016) not in line with the historic Mendoza records. Those previous years were of great learning and helped us sort difficulties in the best possible way during this last vintage. As a common factor in all our vineyards, during 2016 summer we practically did not irrigate before harvest and we moved the soil to improve drainage. Working this way until the first days of March we were able to maintain the quality in the vineyard. Harvest time was decided when maturity and fruit expression were at their pick. The acid levels for this particular year are high and as a consequence we have wines where freshness and vivid fruit expression are their most evident characteristics.",

    "titulo-1": "SPRING",
    "parrafo-1": "The weather was mostly dry and warm, which caused a sprouting delay of about 10 days compared to previous years. By mid-October (2015) we achieved optimum homogeneity in the vineyard. Happily, Zonda Wind did not affect our vineyards during flowering. No losses at that, always delicate, stage in Mendoza. Other years, Zonda wind and late frosts happening during Spring time, could account for losses of almost the entire production of a vineyard.",
    "titulo-2": "SUMMER",
    "parrafo-2": "Intense rainfall started in early January, and instable weather lasted until mid- February with +32% of rain versus the historical average. Maximum temperatures were below average allowing a steady and complete ripening in this cooler than normal scenario. Due to the humid conditions and higher proportion of precipitations during the summer months, the defoliation and dewatering were intensified to improve ventilation in the bunches area, avoiding the development of cryptogamic diseases.",
    "titulo-3": "AUTUMN",
    "parrafo-3": "Rainfall ceased, temperatures went back to normal and frosts did not become present until the beginning of the winter. The work done on the canopy, together with a scheme of cures perfectly studied for each vineyard, allowed us to reach harvest in optimal sanitary conditions despite having been a humid season.",

    "parrafo-conclusion": " After a year with intense labour in the vineyards we believe HARVEST 2016 left us a heavy load of experiences and thoughts about our vineyards and the resulting wines. Gracefully, all the effort done fighting against the extra rainfall was rewarded with grapes of great complexity, freshness and varietal character and the reassurance of the quality and nobility of the Mendoza terroir. We can say that it will be a very good year for our Achaval Ferrer range of wines. We were able to do practices not to be affected by the extra humidity and we benefitted from cooler weather and a more harmonious ripening of our grapes. Not every year is the same. We will always have challenges and variations, but the amount of experiences in this constant changing environment make us better professionals with the understanding to respect our winemaking philosophy in the unchallenged goal of search for perfection."

Each variety is fermented separately in concrete tanks, particularly small lots of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Once fermentation is complete, these components are blended with Malbec to achieve a wine with great volume and elegance, driven by the higher proportion of Malbec. Double selection of clusters and berries ensures maximum grape quality. Fermentation takes place in concrete tanks at high temperatures (29–32ºC), without cold pre-fermentative maceration, filtration or bleeding.
