The Lyric Opera Women's Board presented its 10th Lyric Opera Wine Auction on February 10, 2012. This spectacular event took place on the stage of the Ardis Krainik Theater and featured the best wines of the world, one-of-a-kind travel experiences, premier luxury items, and dining opportunities from Chicago's top chefs!
Together with Honored Guest, Richard Geoffroy, chef de cave of Dom Pérignon, we celebrated 25 years of raising funds to support the grand opera seen and heard at Lyric Opera of Chicago. Online bidding on fine wines and exclusive premiums began mid-December 2011 and was hosted by the world's leading wine auction house, Hart Davis Hart Wine Co.
The auction raised an unprecedented $1.8 million in proceeds, owing to an astounding array of auction lots, consisting of fine wines, as well as several highly desirable travel packages, fine-dining experiences, and luxury items.
